Rift Patch 2.5 and 3.0 Details
Details have emerged about the latest Rift patch that will be coming in the form of RIFT 2.5. Although recent news about server merges have hinted at the demise of the popular MMO, Trion continues to push out new content for its loyal fans. According to a recent livestream from developers, Rift patch 2.5 will be rolled out in phases and will get a release date by the end of the week.
One of the key features to be included in Rift Patch 2.5 is new underwater questline content. This will be a leadup to what will come in Rift 3.0 which will include a lot of underwater combat. This new underwater content is certainly an intriguing idea to mix up gameplay a little.
Rift 2.5 will also introduce a new raid that should serve as a stepping stone for new players to catch up to more veteran players. There will also be a new dungeon and a few new chronicles to keep players busy. Players will also find the new changes to the Warrior that was being tested on the PTS now take full effect on all servers.
Looking ahead to Rift 3.0, developers also hinted at introducing a new free crafting profession to Rift along with the underwater quests. The livestream also reveals that some of the content from Rift 3.0 will actually be coming out ahead of the official release of the patch itself.
